What to sow and grow

Strawberries can be planted out now.

Snow peas under nettingThe crops to grow in late August and the first two weeks of September are snow peas, dwarf peas, sugar snap peas, climbing peas. Peas can germinate when the soil is cool; as low as 7 degrees celsius.

 

Broad beansBroad beans are also a cool climate crop. It is time to plant them now.

 

In the second week of September you can plant carrots, beetroot, mesclun, miners' lettuce, lettuce and kale.
