You will learn all the basics of fruit tree management.

Learn to grow organic vegetables at your place.
The lessons are held for two hours at a time. Mary will supply the seeds for seed sowing lessons.
You can gather in groups of up to five for the lessons.
You must provide a garden space which is at least appproximately 1mx1m.
The course content can vary with your needs. You can suggest topics you wish to learn.
In the first two hours I recommend that you learn about:
Soil Food Web - Alive soil.
Staying healthy in the garden .
Composting for urban sections. How can I maintain my soil fertility using the waste from my place?
Your local resources.
Observing your garden
In the second two hours I recommend that you learn about:
Seeds.
What is in a seed?
Collecting and storing seeds.
Opening seed drills and sowing seeds.
Planning my Vegetable Garden
Observing flowers and seeds
In the third two hours I recommend that you learn about:
Tending the garden
Weeds
Weeding methods
Seasonal planting
Water: Maintaining soil moisture. Watering methods.
Fees
My fees are $40.00 per hour plus 70c per kilometer travelling from Richmond Christchurch to your place within the Christchurch area for up to two people at a lesson.
For three people at a lesson it is $50.00 per hour.
For four people it is $60.00 per hour .
For five people it is $70.00 per hour.
